Keeping History Alive
The Travelers Rest Historical Society is a non-profit, volunteer-led organization whose mission is to preserve and share the history of Travelers Rest. The Society maintains two historic locations: History Museum of Travelers Rest and Spring Park Inn.
History Museum of
Travelers Rest
Circa 1920s

Formerly the Vest Store on Main Street, this transformed historic building now houses our town’s memories.
Explore the rich history of Travelers Rest and our people by viewing historical artifacts up close at the Museum.
Spring Park Inn
Circa Early 1800s

The Spring Park Inn and property were bequeathed to the Travelers Rest Historical Society by Nell Anderson Gibson, to be permanently protected and preserved as a historical house museum and park.
Restored to depict the Victorian period of the late 1800’s – early 1900’s, the Inn is open for Exhibits and Tours. Take a step back in time and experience the grandeur of this historic house museum.
